Ådlandsvik & Müller

English

Stian Ådlandsvik (N) & Lutz-Rainer Müller (G) are two artists with individual practices that during the past years have collaborated on special occasions such as invitations to exhibition spaces or public commissions. For these events they set out to find or create situations bearing questions or problems they have to react upon.Given the opportunity of sharing a studio at Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo they have initiated a process in which the idea of collaboration itself and its evolving nature in communication is key to the forming of an exhibition.

Their seemingly paradoxical plan to come to terms with the process of planning a collaborative exhibition involves passing on the actual decision-making. They want to utilize high-tech medical equipment to get exact duplicates of the bones in their arms. These bones will be loosely put in cases and thereby shuffled during the artist’s trip from home to the exhibition space. After carefully being opened at Kunstnernes Hus a bone teller (fortune teller) will examine the bones exposure and tell the two artists what their upcoming exhibition will look like. The final show is then to be realized according to the bone teller’s visions.
